Professional guard dog training may be an expensive option for you. So home training is the best suitable option for you if you start training puppy at younger stage, if you have decided your dog will work as guard dogs. I have listed a few guidelines on Guard dog training which might help you during training sessions.
1) Socialization - This is the first step before training session starts. At puppy age try to introduce with your family member, other pets in your home, with your friends. Socialization will help dog to interact with lots of people in good manner. Introduce a dog to your home and home surroundings. This will help dog to identify their boundaries.
2) Teach obedience - Try to start obedience training from the first day at your home. Start giving some basic training on commands such sit, run, stop, no, come walk, jump etc. This will help a lot to you and your dog to carry out normal daily activity. Give proper training of every command, don't ignore any misbehavior, and repeat commands till dog follows it. Give motivation based training, give a treat after completion of every task, use a collar and leash during training for better control.
3) Teach educated barking - Train your dog who to bark at. Encourage and train dog to bark strangers who are coming to your home. Give a dog treat for this task. Also train your dog to stop barking after your commands. This will give you a safe feeling at your home.
4) Create boundaries - Introduce a dog to your property only so that the dog can protect you very well. Go for daily walks with the dog, train about boundaries, and give some commands. This will stop attacking to other people outside of your boundary.
5) Protection training - Some breed of dog has fighting ability also. If you train well they will protect you from severe attack also. Jumping, biting, fighting training must be given.
But this type of training must be given by professional trainers.
